Denverse Stories: An Avalanche of Memories in the Rafters

The history of the Colorado Avalanche told through the numbers the team has retired into the rafters of Pepsi Center. The contributions of the six players led to two Stanley Cups, four Hall of Famers and tons of great moments.
The history of the Colorado Avalanche owes so much to the six players whose numbers the Avs have retired. Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Milan Hejduk, Patrick Roy and Ray Bourque are the story of the franchise since the team moved from Quebec in 1995. This brief history looks at each member's contribution to the team. This is a great introduction or trip down memory lane for all Avs fans.

Note: A correction on player’s draft years. Matt Duchene was drafted (not signed) in 2009, Gabe Landeskog in 2011 and Nathan MacKinnon in 2013.
